Flying high in Shanghai

We were delighted to be appointed to design the new Flight Gallery for Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.

Aviation was one of humanity’s greatest achievements during the 20th century and the opportunity to create a hands-on gallery which went from first principals to latest innovation was an exciting prospect.

Our longstanding relationship with a local design studio and our own in-house Chinese speaking designers meant that we could work closely with the curatorial team in the museum.

Our approach invites visitors to experience aviation from different perspectives: principles of flight, human stories and tests, technology and innovations. The purpose is to demonstrate how flying changed the world and people’s lives. How it has connected countries and cultures and expanded our vision of the planet we inhabit.
